Ron Bogart is a Senior Music Performance major with a concentration in Jazz Drum Set at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the PA Jazz Collective, an organization devoted to growing a jazz audience and providing educational programs in the Lehigh Valley. He has studied privately with Pennsylvania drummers Marko Marcinko and Gary Rissmiller but owes much of his drum education to Sherrie Maricle, Bill Goodwin and Mike Stephans. In August of 2016, he was given the opportunity to travel to the Czech Republic and record with a Big Band under the ARTA record label. In 2015, he was awarded the Best Overall Rhythm Soloist at the PA Jazz Idol, an event sponsored by the Pennsylvania Jazz Collective. Outside of school he leads an ensemble in a trio-quintet setting which has had the opportunity to play venues such as The Deer Head Inn and The COTA Jazz Festival swell as other local establishments. Ron currently serves as the house drummer for the Shawnee Playhouse and has worked with other local production companies such as PYT and Star of the Day on musicals.
